India is one of the ten most forest-rich countries of the world. Explore these beautiful forests with Buffy Fish this season! We make travelling fun and easy for you. Here are a few things that you should never forget to pack when you are travelling to a forest.
-
Clothing
Opt for greens and browns and dull colored clothing. Avoid all the bright colours as you would want to be hidden and not visible to the animals. Go for full length bottoms and full sleeved tops. This will help you protect your skin from the dust and the sun. Cotton clothing is the best as it is lighter and it soaks in your sweat.
-
Boots
Though it is not permissible to walk in the forests, the area around the buffer too can show you great action. It is essential to carry a good pair of boots that will protect your feet from dust and reptiles while you walk in the wild.
-
Sunscreen
Make sunscreen your best friend when you travel to any forest. Your skin needs good protection from the UV rays and nothing other than a sunscreen can do it for you.
-
Bandana
Tied around your neck or head, it can absorb sweat. Bandanas can also be used to cover your camera equipment while on a safari. It can clean the eyeglass or camera lens when you don’t have your lens cleaning material handy. Make sure the bandana is well worn in, because the softer fabric wont scratch the glass.
-
Writing material
You may want to take notes as you take in the vast amounts of flora and fauna encountered throughout the forest. Carry a pencil instead of a pen, if there’s rain, your ink will smear (unless you are one of those hardcore birders who buy water-resistant notebooks and writing instruments)
-
Camera
Common to any wildlife vacation would be a good powerful camera with powerful zoom as wildlife photography is usually taken from a distance. Make sure you carry a soft cotton cloth that will protect the lens of your camera from the dust. Charge your camera well before you leave for the safari as there are no charging facilities available in the wild.
-
Binoculars
If you are interested in bird watching, a good set of binoculars is a must have. Make sure your binoculars have a belt attached to it so that you can put it around your neck and you don’t have to carry it in your hand all the time.
-
Dusting Powder
Replace your perfumes and deodorants with Dusting powder. It prevents your skin from excess perspiration and general fungal infections.
-
Sunglasses
Your eyes need protection from the bright sun rays and the dust. Never forget to carry a pair of sunglasses when you leave for the safari.
-
Hat/Cap
This is THE most essential thing that you have to pack. It is extremely sunny and you need to carry a hat to cover your head.
-
Water
A bottle of water is something that you should NEVER forget to carry with you. Your body tends to dehydrate after a while due to the heat, this can result into a bad head ache and other dehydration related sickness. Water is another MUST HAVE!
-
Day Pack
Last but not the least, a small rucksack to carry all your essentials.
People! What are you waiting for?! Start packing! NOW! And get lost into the wild!
